Rogério Lupo is a Brazilian scientific illustrator who 1st Prize in the Margaret Flockton Award in 2010 and 2013. He is also a teacher who has very generously provided a FREE guidebook and a FREE 48 minute video online providing pointers on how to draw scientific illustrations using graphite.
He also makes the effort to make sure his tuition is accessible to those who speak/read English rather than Portuguese. This post is about:

The Guidebook
Graphite and its Possibilities Applied to Scientific Illustrations is a FREE Guidebook with English subtitles. Please note that Rogério Lupo has asserted his copyright and any SALE of this Guidebook is strictly prohibited
In due course, with Rogério's permission, I aim to summarise the key tips from his Guidebook and video so that I can add these into my page on Scientific Botanical Illustration to accompany those from Walter Hood Fitch, the eminent botanical draughtsman. Fitch wrote eight articles for The Gardeners' Chronicle in 1869 as a guide for botanical drawing!
About Rogério Lupo
Rogério Lupo is a Brazilian Scientific Illustrator who produces botanical illustrations. He is a member of the very illustrious and tiny group of people who have won the Margaret Flockton Award twice. He won 1st Prize in 2010 and 2013.
You can see some of his botanical artwork in the albums of photos of his botanical illustration images which he shares on Facebook (these can be seen irrespective of whether or not you have.a Facebook account as a Facebook Page is public). He also plays rather good 10 string Brazilian viola/guitar for how his own composition background track of this video! Below are some of the places where you can see and read about his work online. Dates: May 10-12 - Pen Nib and Ink with a public demonstration happening beforehand on May 9.
