44 artworks were selected from 200 entries submitted by ASBA botanical artist members from around the world. Artists in the exhibition are from the US, Canada, Czech Republic, France, India, Ireland, Japan, Korea, and the UK. Eleven have never been in an ASBA International exhibition.

  • recording notable trees in public collections for the historical record
  • developing relationships between artists and these institutions and organizations, and encouraging artists to learn about and depict trees
  • educating the public about the contemporary practice of botanical art, the value of trees worldwide, and the important tree resources that botanical gardens and arboreta provide

Following in the Bartrams' Footsteps - Contemporary Botanical Artists Explore the Bartrams' Legacy

44 original artworks related to the native plant discoveries made by John and William Bartram between the 1730s and 1790s during their travels in the Eastern Wilderness. You can see the exhibit in the video.

This is a traveling exhibition of botanical art, curated by the American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA) and developed in conjunction with the The New York Botanical Garden. It includes forty-seven paintings selected from a field of 238 submissions.
