An Irish Florilegium
by Wendy Walsh Wendy Walsh lived in Ireland for over 50 years. During that time she was awarded all sorts of honours for her work as a botanical artist. The pinnacle of her career was producing the very first florilegium of the plants and flowers of Ireland. An Irish Florilegium Volume 1 was published in 1983 and Volume 2 followed in 1988. All 96 original watercolour plates are now kept in the Botanic Garden library at Glasnevin. RECOMMENDED: I managed to acquire a new copy online for a very reasonable sum. because it has been out of print once and it's not easy to get hold of. I own an 'An Irish Florilegium' won a bronze medal for the 'Most Beautiful Book in the World' at the Leipzig Book Fair |
