More and more botanical artists are now making videos. Very often they are also instructors and tutors who provide video instruction as part of the tuition they offer - online and via home study
Suggestions for helpful (but NOT overly commercial videos) are most welcome. Please use the suggestion form at the bottom of the page. |
Billy Showell, Anna Mason and Julia Trickey have produced a number of videos which provide insight into colour mixes and application of watercolour when painting flowers. Some of these are included below along with videos by Sarah Morrish.
|
This painting is the feature image of the 2016 Annual Exhibition of the Society of Botanical Artists. In this video Billy explains how she created the very complex composition of this wonderfully complex flower! The painting was then used on the catalogue and flyers for the exhibition.

You can suggest a video you have found useful by supplying the URL and saying why it is good. Please note videos which are mainly a sales pitch cannot be included. Brief references to other ways an art tutor might be able to assist (eg sale of full video) are OK so long as the bulk of the video is non-commercial.
