This is a £10,000 biennial award to botanical art groups. 

The Botanical Art Prize is dedicated to the practice and promotion of botanical art. It aims

• to support and promote collaborative botanical art projects in the UK and Ireland; and 
• through established botanical art groups which go above and beyond their normal day-to-day activities

In particular, it recognises those which have already helped to raise the profile of botanical art.

Projects might include:

• a new education programme,
• the development of an existing course,
• an exhibition, publication, event or collaborative project.

​The judges are looking to reward fresh ideas, original projects and new ways of working.

Previous Winners of this Botanical Art Prize have been:

• 2018 – Sir Cedric Morris Florilegium
• 2020 – Gloucestershire Society for Botanical Illustration
• 2022 – Scottish Society of Botanical Artists.

About the Finnis Scott Foundation

The Finnis Scott Foundation was established under the Will of Lady Montagu Douglas Scott (Valerie Finnis) in 2006. The Trustees can make grants for any charitable purpose, but their present policy is to focus grant-making on the areas of horticulture and plant sciences, as well as the exhibition, conservation and study of art.
