After the show closes the BISCOT exhibition then transfers to the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh Venue: the Real Life Science Studio, John Hope Gateway Building, RGBE Dates: Wednesday 3rd June to Thursday 18th June (10am - 5pm) Admission is FREE. Only those aged 8+ can enter the exhibition there are works by exceptional artists in a showcase of top contemporary botanical art from home and abroad as part of this innovative collaboration between RBGE and the Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society If you are interested in exhibiting next year, you can find out what you need to know on the Call for Entries page on the Royal Caledonian Horitcultural Society website I don't have a list of selected artists. If anybody knows how I can get hold of one I'd be happy to publish the names of the artists to be honoured by selection on this blog. The 3rd Annual Botanical & Floral Art in Bloom Exhibition opens tomorrow (Thursday 28th May 2015) at Bloom, in Phoenix Park Dublin and continues until Monday 1st June. This year there are 53 paintings in total waiting to be judged. 14 medals were awarded last year, including 2 Gold Medals. Artwork is for sale. Key Facts about The Bloom Botanical & Floral Art Exhibition
Happy in Bloom provides a taster of the exhibition this year. It's a blog post about last year's event by Shevaun Doherty, one of last year's Gold Medal Winners. It has lots of photos of what the exhibition looked like last year. The Botanical and Floral Art Exhibition is held in the Visitor’s Centre. This lies between the beautiful Victorian walled garden and Ashton Castle, a 17th century medieval tower house. Click here to download the Bloom site map. Bloom Garden Festival is Ireland's largest Garden Festival, with over 110,000 visitors last year.
See more listings for exhibitions of botanical art in Ireland I've brought together on one NEW page all the blog posts I can find about the various assignments for the Society of Botanical Artists Distance Learning Diploma Course - organised by assignment.
Take a look at Society of Botanical Art Diploma Course - commentary via blog posts It struck me that reading and seeing what people have done in the past might well be helpful to those currently doing the Diploma - or thinking about doing so in future. To date, the new page has been very well received - with a lot of people commenting that they wish they'd had access to something like this will they were doing the DLDC. The page will be updated in the future as new blog posts are created. Information about Diplomas and Certificates in Botanical Art For more information about:
